I came across this quote by Steve Jobs, which so eloquently expresses the importance of harnessing technology:

"it made a really big impression on me that we humans are tool builders. And that we can fashion tools that amplify these inherent abilities that we have to spectacular magnitudes. And so for me, a computer has always been a bicycle of the mind."

Welcome and Hello to The Bicycle, where you’ll find news and views about the latest technology and marketing.

I can count myself lucky to have seen how technology has changed the way we communicate and how brands and marketing techniques have evolved. My fascination with technology began at an early age at a time when computer games written in a language called Basic and saved on a cassette tape attached to a computer such as a ZX 80 so that you could play ping pong. If you remember computers of this time, BBC Micro, Commodore 64 and the early IBM Personal Computers which used Basic or MS-DOS as the operating system, then you'll be able to guess my age.

I've been able to sneak my inner geek in occasionally, by introducing new ideas and uses of technology into my work whenever it's for the right reason, so here you'll find posts about technology and how it can be harnessed to power marketing.
